About
Christopher (Kit) Campbell, P. Geo., President, Principal Geophysicist
Mr. Campbell's professional life encompasses more than thirty-five years of diverse
experience in all facets of airborne and ground geophysics; he has directed many projects
throughout Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, Africa, Russia and the Middle East. Mr. Campbell
specializes in project management of new data acquisition, real-time (including on-site)
quality control of data acquisition and field verification, overall processing and presentation
of exploration data sets, as well as fully integrated solid geologic mapping and structural
interpretations.
Intrepid Geophysics Ltd. was founded in 1998 as a geophysical consulting group specializing
in potential field and electromagnetic applications in the search for kimberlite, base and precious
metals as well as groundwater and petroleum. The company provides design, supervision, processing
and interpretation services for ground and airborne geophysical surveys as well as providing more
general GIS and mapping services for the earth resources sector.
Intrepid Geophysics has worked for over 100 Canadian-based and International private
sector companies and government agencies; the core of our business is repeat clients
(companies and individuals). Intrepid Geophysics provides services both to smaller companies
without a geophysicist on their staff, and to larger companies which require additional
geophysical expertise and capability from time to time; this work is undertaken either at
our base office, in the field or at the clients’ facilities.
The scope of projects successfully completed includes the following:
- Kimberlite exploration using airborne magnetic, radiometric and electromagnetic
surveys to locate both classical pipe bodies and more irregualar blow and dyke -type intrusives.
- Airborne magnetic, radiometric, electromagnetic and gravity gradiometry surveys
in the search for base and precious metals, uranium and rare earth deposits.
- Detailed ground magnetic, gravity, electromagnetic, radiometric and
electrical surveys (both surface and downhole) in the search for diamonds,
base and precious metals.
- Iron ore exploration using ground and airborne gravity gradiometry,
magnetic and electromagnetic surveys to identify and delineate deposits.
- Hydrocarbon exploration using magnetic and gravity data to provide a
structural context of the host basin.
- Quality Control and Project Management on behalf of a major oil
producing company of a national-scope sized triaxial aeromagnetic survey in the search
for petroleum, Middle East.
- Regional studies using aeromagnetic, gravity and satellite data to determine
structures and lithologies for base, precious metal, and diamond exploration and
to outline new mineralization districts.
- Technology transfer, training and on-going mentoring of both geologists and
geophysicists in their professional development, here in Canada and Internationally.
